some decide not to go out of state and want to go to smaller schools with the degree they want. Also, I know I hear this all the time this team was after this kid and that kid, but could the kid really pass the admittance requirements?  UCLA for has a pretty high GPA requirement along with SAT's

Maybe for regular students, athletes, not so much. Even softball players get a pretty lenient pass.

To me AZ continues to have really great hitters and really great defense.  Seems to me the only real hole has been pitching.  Not sure why Baylor, Tulsa, Mizzou, OR seem to be able to recruit pitching, but AZ seems lost in this area.

I would say Arizona is still recruiting the same territories. That could be the problem. Babcock I believe is the first non-Arizona/California pitcher. And she was recruited during Candrea's Team USA run. Every team you listed has eastern pitchers, except Oregon. And they even have Hovinga from Nebraska. Maybe UA needs to cast a wider net. UCLA has done it. Washington seems to be venturing out east to find a pitcher, athlete or two. Arizona State has done it. It seems to me that the rest of the PAC has gone national in recruiting. And UA has kept it California and Arizona. Look at the WCWS. Only one team's #1 pitcher was from California. The finals had two Floridians facing off. Of the 8 #1's in OKC, what are the chances that UA recruited any of them? I would guess, they might have recruited one. The people that controlled the flow of talent to the big schools no longer have the top pitchers in the country. So, UA has been left out of the mix because they still take kids from the same organizations. And the game has shown, big hitters are becoming a dime a dozen. UA has a great line up. But, so does almost everyone else. Time to change organizations they recruit from.

McDuffee.   Unfortunately injuries have hampered her ability to compete for the #1 spot.

I didn't even count her as she has had limited contribution and was a last minute commit.
Hall, Carda, Grauer, Ta'amilo, Garcia, looks like the net isn't being cast very far or often.

Why is it that; UCLA, Oregon and ASU are getting better pitchers that UA?

Answer: At these other schools, the Head Coach's are out there doing the recruiting - where at UA, the assistants do the recruiting.

When a recruit actually see's Mike White, Clint Meyers (when he was there) and Kelley Perez watching them pitch - it leaves a lasting impression and shows a level of interest from the top! Now, when Hollowell or Iveson shows up -sure it's cool to see them in their UA gear, but neither of them are MC. It's just not the same.

Those others appear to be more interested, by the fact that they are out there watching them.
I think MC needs to get out more...

I think UCLA has an added advantage with Lisa F. there too.
