I hope our friends along the Gulf of Mexico can manage to stay dry and avoid property damage.  Bluedog, I hope all is well.

Coach, it's coming right through me........But, if it turns at the last minute, I won't be upset about it.........

I put my potted jalapeno plants in the barbecue house, so they should be OK...........That's about my most prized possession..........

Not really expecting too bad a storm.........

I saw that tonight on the news.  Hope you have all of the necessities to get through this and that the water doesn't get too high.

Coach, a lot of the weather channel news, and even local news, has turned into fake-news when it comes to this storm stuff.........Our local stations are already starting to make excuses for their over-drama..........This storm is really gonna be nothing more than a rain-event...........Our projected rain totals have already dropped from 12 - 15 inches to around 3 - 4 inches...........

Seriously, I saw this coming two days ago............

The fake-news has enabled every Wal Mart within 50 miles of the gulf coast to sell-out of everything............

Now all we need is footage of Anderson Cooper falling down in 2 feet of water [while standing in a ditch] crying for his boyfriend to save him

The fake-news Weather Service has designated this rain storm a hurricane.............Somehow, they're trying to claim they found a 75 MPH wind gust...........

Our local news reporters are even beginning to question why..........They're showing an eye supposedly coming through us, but, there's nothing on the left-side of that eye...........We're thirty miles from the gulf and we don't even have any recordable amount-of-rain yet............Nothing more than an off-and-on slight drizzle.........And, our winds are calm..........

When I lived in FL, we didn't even get up off the sofa for a Cat 1.  Cat 2 was interesting, 3 and above was dangerous.

I've ridden out plenty.  And blue is right - there is no greater overhyped event than a tropical storm or hurricane.  Non stop doom and gloom for 5 days in advance, then it's over.

I did ride one out that was forecast to landfall as a 2, but did so as a 5, about 80 miles away.  It was about a 3/4 on us.  I could do without living through that ever again.

In FL, the named storm homeowner's insurance deductible is 10% of the home value.  That sucks when a real storm comes by.

If they sit on top of you for 5 days it doesn't matter what Cat. they are.

We're getting rain and some wind tonight......We're under a 9:00 P.M. curfew tonight............

So far, there's been no street flooding.........

This was hyped to be a hurricane, but, it wasn't.........Still a chance for some street flooding tomorrow they're saying from the back-end of this storm...........

That is true.  Had that once, but only 3 days, and it was pretty miserable.
