Bandits versus Huntsville Sparks right now matching up future teammates (and potential battery) Fouts and Karla Hice.

Yes that's her, I watched her some this week. Certainly was a nice compliment to Fouts. Bandits always pretty deep, was mildly surprised they had picked up a guest player. Great decision, especially when you're grinding through losers bracket.

Miami-OH will have a tall group of pitchers. Their 2017 Courtney Viestra is about 6' I think. Pratt kid was smooth as silk, great mechanics. They get her stronger & throwing 65+ Miami-OH will be tough. Thanks Jayrot

But is this 16U Bandits A team?  Isn't there a BB Conroy team here at 16U?  I'm only very loosely following this week.

Dorsey is out. I think Tyrell is considered A team right?
This sparks pitcher is going to Tenn.

From what I can tell, the Premier (Tyrrell) and Demarini (Ketelhut/Doresy teams) are separated by geography.  The Tyrrell team is mostly Illinois kids.  The Demarini teams are mostly Indiana/Ohio/Kentucky.

Oh ok. Makes sense. I just figured it'd be like how they kinda handle the 18U teams.

Glad Fouts made it to the championship. Reminds me of when Littlejohn carried the 16U Glory to the title game. I could find that coach and hit him for continuing to pitch Fouts in the IF game. And Also for throwing her on the 5th and 6th of the Sparks game. She looked a lot better today than yesterday.

Fouts and the Bandits win the 16U title. Fouts pitched a ghastly 49 innings including all 6 innings of the championship (with 8 Ks). To me, that Supple vs Fouts Game 1 was the title game. Easily one of the best games I've seen at PGF.

Another standout line came from Savannah Woodard playing in 16U for the Thunderbolts.  6 for 15 with a double, 3 homers, 3 walks, 4 RBIs, and 6 runs scored

Karla Hice playing 16U with the Huntsville Sparks was 7 for 18 with a triple, 6 RBIs, and 2 walks. Managed to go 2 for 3 against Montana Fouts.

Nice interview with Kelly Kretschman regarding the rift between USA Softball and the NPF:

After a little searching it appears to me all 3 Bandits 16u were their "A teams."

Kettlehut was made of mostly 2018s and finished 3rd at IDT, Won TCS, and Won PGF

Tyrell was a mix of 2018/2019/2020 and was IDT Co-Champs, Won Fall PGF Shootout, 3rd at PGF.

Dorsey was mix of 2019/2020 and was IDT Co-Champs, 3rd at Demarini Invite, 9th at PGF

3 16u teams from the same organization in the top 10 at PGF is pretty impressive.

Haylie McCleney is tearing it up for the National team. She is leadoff CF like she was here. As of today she is batting .558 over 19 games. In non exhibition games, she is batting .634 over 15 games.

Haylie is doing a heck of a lot better on team USA - than she has done in the NPF.

League ... G .... AB ... H ... EBH ... BB ... SO ... R ... RBI ..... BA .... OBP .... SLG .... OPS
USA ...... 19 .... 52 .. 29 ..... 5 ..... 13 .... 3 ... 26 .... 10 ... .558 ... .636 ... .750 ... 1.386
NPF ...... 27 .... 77 .. 22 ..... 3 ....... 1 .... 8 ... 10 ...... 5 ... .297 ... .299 ... .338 .... .637

She faces better opponents in the NPF (unless they are playing the Chinese team).

For those who know, are there any of Auburn's recruits that we may try to get?  Is there even any room?

When you hit .240 in conference there is always room.

When you have only one reliable SEC pitcher there is even more room.

But the true story might prove to be interesting.

http://auburn.247sports.com/Article/PMARSHONAU-A-stunning-end-to-a-remarkable-run-for-Auburn-softbal-106451106

"The 2017 season was difficult for Myers. Corey Myers, his son and presumed successor as head coach, resigned the day Auburn left for Georgia to play a three-game series. Rumors were everywhere. It was clear that Corey Myers’ resignation, if not forced, was welcomed.

For Clint Myers, that changed everything. He leaned heavily on Corey. When Corey resigned, he was left to carry a much heavier load. Did he, at 65 years old, decide that it was too much?

Was there an issue with his contract? Did he simply talk to his wife and decide he didn’t want to shoulder the load any longer and the time had come to walk away?"

The article doesn't mention Haley Fagan's incident with Tim Walton or Carlee Wallace's decision to transfer to Baylor, although it does mention an "ESPN reporter who followed [the team] throughout last season and whether there were concerns about what he might write. He [Myers] said. “I’ve heard some stuff, but I can’t control what somebody writes.”

The timing is certainly suspicious, given that he just signed a new six-year contract in July and that classes just started and fall games are coming up soon.  Hmm......  [confused]

Not sure about Alabama but, it looks as if one 2018 will end up in the ACC, another 2018 to Arizona. Also a 2019 player & 2020 P from CA. have reportedly decommitted. 2019 P Lynch fielding calls...which is understandable.

As always, old Knucklehead is providing incorrect stats.  Alabama's conference batting average was actually .273.  That was good enough for last place but it is still not .240.

Batting avg
1. Georgia   .338
2. Tennessee   .316
3. Florida   .299
4. Texas A&M   .298
5. Ole Miss   .294
6. LSU   .289
7. Arkansas   .284
8. Kentucky   .282
9. Mississippi State   .281
10. Missouri   .280
11. South Carolina   .278
12. Auburn   .277
13. Alabama   .273

According to the Alabama website the stats show overall .273 batting avg. and conference only .241 which I think is what Nucklecurve has noted??

These stats were taken from the SEC which shows Alabama as having a conference batting average of .273.  Where is .240 coming from if the above is what the SEC stats show for their batting average?

I was screaming something fierce those last 10 minutes.  When that shot hit the crossbar I about crapped myself.
