“You can look at last year’s softball seedings for the postseason and I’m not sure if it’s more softball than any other sport, but they use the RPI as a real tell-tale of teams’ strength of schedule,” Alabama coach Patrick Murphy said. “They use it above all other things as the gauge, so it’s great in our minds to be No. 1 in that.

“I tried to count it up and I think it was 42 games against top 75 RPI teams (this season). Last year I think it was close to 45. A lot of people quesitoned why we were No. 1 from the very beginning to the very end (last season) in the RPI, but it was our schedule. The schedule is helping us.”

Neither have I.  She hits the ball very hard, especially for someone of her stature.

So KD is 60ks away and bama plays the next 7 games on the road.. so if she pitches 4 of them striking out about 10 a game, than there is a chance she can break the record the weekend of the MSU series at home in Tuscaloosa

So by that thought process she'll go 2 games against SC and 2 games against LSU and they'll give the Troy game to either Traina or Sewell?

But then she'll have to have at least 20Ks against MSU.  Seems kinda doable, but also kind of a difficult.  I wouldn't mind seeing her break the record against UF ... her arch-nemesis over the last two years.

Edit: not to mention, I'd rather see her only go 3 games in that 7 game stretch because I wouldn't mind seeing her rest one of those SC games or at least pitch a half-game just so she doesn't get too many innings on her arm.  Need her SUPER rested for the UF series.

She is averaging about 9 K in her starts.  It is doable if she gets some relief work also.

I know it may be a strange question, but doesn't it seem as if Jury has the same build as Kelsi Dunne?  Not that I'm complaining, just thought it was interesting.

Yeah, not saying it isn't doable, I'm just not the type of person to want to put that kind of pressure on a player, like "ok, you have to go out and get 12 Ks this game" type of pressure.  She'll break the record, and deservedly so, but I'd rather have her fresh and ready for post-season play.

In the same breath, I'm trying not to get too excited at the possibility of seeing Traina help out deep into post-season play ... I keep having to remind myself "let them just get there first."

She is tall like Kelsi but more slender.  You can really see how tall she is in the home run video.

I think Murphy will see how she is doing and get it for her at home if he can.  If not, Florida works too.

Yep, he's a smart man and knows what he is doing.  I think he and she will try their darndest to do it in front of the crowd that means so much to them.

Next time some of them are passing thru on I59/I20 if they get a chance.  Those are bitter folks.  Not as bitter as ULL folks but bitter.

I missed all of the run scoring thanks to internet problems as well as the slacker but yes, Hunt is our stealth freshman.
