I was just thinking about this thread and I see that you bumped it, KIR. Nice. I was almost going to post up on my Dark Age thread, but this is a better spot.

I've been wondering if this nonstop-reaction-to-losing-an-election is the next stage in the "gridlock ----> collapse" of our political system. I would assume that if a Dem is ever elected again to the presidency, that the right will then do exactly the same thing that the dems are doing this term. 24/7 hysteria. Fact is, anyone who has lived a few decades on this planet has done and/or said things that can be attacked and exploited for political damage. No future president will escape this treatment.

Of course dewfus and freshkazoo will try to explain that (civilian) trump banging strippers matters. And muh russia. Truth is, it's all just the tantrums of petulant children who were told they would get something (cankles) and then were denied their prize.

yes, Early.  I agree with you and Scotty, we are in a downward spiral and I can't think of a Democrat out there that could possibly reunite this country.

The Right in this Country did everything possible to drive Bill Clinton out of office.  They chased down land deals and made sexual assault accusations on almost a daily basis.  They even tried to impeach him.

The Right did the same with President Obama.  Did everything they could to convince Americans he was a foreigner who was trying to harm America.  Next they did everything possible to destroy the future Democratic Party candidate by trying to turn a mistaken characterization of an embassy attack into a deliberate act of wrong-doing.  Months and months of "salt" regarding this episode led to learning the SOS had a personal email account on her husband's server.  OMG.  A practice she believed was legal in nature and one the Right distorted into a national crisis it never was.  All to destroy a potential political opponent.

Finally, the Right takes it so much further and goes after first ladies as well, who have absolutely nothing to do with running the Country.  There is no doubt the Right will use every tool in the book which may potentially lead to some sort of partisan gain.

As for this time around, the Right forgets they appointed the leaders of the DOJ who then appointed a Republican to investigate Russia.  Democrats can't move any of this forward, be it the Russian investigation or the stripper investigation.  The Republicans are driving this train.

When it comes to refusing to accept a result, think Roe v Wade, Obamacare SC decision, Iran Agreement, trade deals, black man elected President, legal gay marriage, gays serving in military, climate change consensus, DACA decision, decision to not charge Hillary, Senate decision State Department didn't mislead on Benghazi, Republican AG appointing special counsel, Manafort being indicted, or the SC decision illegal immigrants are to be educated.  The Right tends to gag on every result that comes down in this great land.  Talk about a failure of a political Party to move on.

Obama voted best job as President during our lifetime.

Not sure we must blanket all social media but when anonymous adults attack other anonymous adults on the internet, one has to wonder what chance our kids have.

Trump should be honest with the American people.

More whining from the Loony Left, read the thread title.  Then he falls right into the chum bucket without his hair net.  Accept the result and quit your pontificating.

BTW did you get out and do some of that spring cleaning yesterday for Georgia?

But it is absolutely ridiculous to say that the Russians swung the 2016 election with online ads. The most prominent Russian firm in question, the Internet Research Agency, spent just $100,000 on ads, 56 percent of which ran after the election was over. Our group spent more than three times that in a statewide gubernatorial primary earlier this year. Meanwhile, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump spent tens of millions of dollars on online ads, while outside groups also spent several million influencing the race. The Russian efforts barely registered.”
