Interesting to see that Washington is playing both weekends.

Curious if anyone attended this last year and if so what your impressions were of the facilities and the overall experience.

My daughter played there a couple of years ago.  It was great.  The facilities are very nice and all inclusive was AMAZING!!!  The fields are what they are, but nice none the less.  They were walking distance from the hotel.  The dinner they had for the girls was more in the downtown area where all the night life is.  That was a good time too.  Found a nice little cigar shop that made their own.  LOL

Definitely worth it, but, we also did not go through Triple Crown.  We found we saved money going out and looking for better pricing.

What hotel did u stay at? And, you mentioned the Al-inclusive and then a meal for the players off site, so all-inclusive was still worth it with eating off site? Also, what do u know about the Sheraton Club vs all-inclusive? Thx

We stayed at the same hotel as the players, Sheraton Buganvilias Resort.  The meal for the players was paid for as it was done through Triple Crown.  If you as a parent/spectator wanted to go, you had to pay for your own food.

The all inclusive was definitely worth it.  I think my husband actually booked it through hotels.com or something like that.

It was a great experience.

Thank you - did you eat off-site any other night? Can u describe their all-inclusive, as I'm seeing some negatives online? For instance, what was included, rail drinks, meals and if the restaurants were open late with plenty of availability? I'm getting excited!

We ate at the hotel the whole time (except for the one night).  Wait, we ate some street tacos too.  Drinks were beer and whatever they had at the bars.  But I don't remember if there was a no host bar on site or not.

The food wasn't all night but there were small places to eat when the main buffet was not open.  I thought the food was pretty decent.

We want to go sometime as a family vacation it was so fun.

Boy....not sure anything pisses me off more around a softball field than some big-yap parent putting their kid on a pedestal over her teammates -- and a newcomer making a big leap up to boot.

I will cool the engines and just assume that is an unrelated flamethrower and NOT that player's parent.

It's definitely Mom.  Very impressive numbers at GW.  Might be tough to match that against SEC pitching.

Here's one of her early posts in the Transfer thread.  She has others in the Maryland thread that confirm its her.

"Rising sophomore All-American Katie Prebble from Gardner-Webb to UofSo Carolina - Big South Player and Freshman of the Year - 23 HR's 71 RBI's"

Gardner-Webb played one single disastrous game against a P5 last year, best I can see...

Just lay low, let the kid become a good teammate and become a cog of trying to help the Gamecocks make the Elite Eight

I don't wish any ill will on the kid.  Mom definitely isn't doing her any favors with her new teammates though.

Based on just the posts from this thread (I haven't seen other posts), I do not see what "bestprmomever" has said that caused your statement above.
What has she done that you find so offensive??  How has she put "her kid on a pedestal over her teammates"??

Her quote that I listed above - just says that she loves to watch her AA softball player when she is on the field.
I'd think any parent would feel exactly the same.

Thanks HLA - and, thanks to SC_FAN91 - haters, gonna hate.  I'll wait for any 'bold' statements I made on any other threads..............  my comment was a sarcastic response to spaz, I certainly hope college softball players aren't wasting their time reading posts......  so, I don't see how I offended her teammates..... and, for a father on here to take offense??  I find that sad and funny...... either insecure or jealous......  and, you mostly ASSumed, only if you knew the whole story.....  I'll be sooooooo happy to see her play in Feb.  I said nothing about her teammates, placing her above them, her status on the team, as a matter of fact, their SS is unreal, 3rd base has a rocket for an arm, pitching is great, and as for Jackson, seems to be a great addition, my daughter loves her.  Still waiting on 'bold' statements....  one last thing anonymity sure does offer a cover.... spaz and 34sdad, who are you/your daughters?

I’m sure every parent is proud to see their kid play but a very small minority would boast as she attempted to do.

I'm hardly anonymous.  I've stated a few times who my kid is.  Emma Hylen, Iowa State Senior pitcher.  She can be pretty good or pretty bad depending on the day.

I said your daughter is a good player that put up impressive numbers.  How is that taking offense?

I don't think many players look at these sites, but their parents do and it gets back to the players.  Nothing you said was wrong or bad and you're definitely not the first of us to brag about our kids.

The question isn't what 'any parent' would 'feel'... it is what they would write on a message board.

At this point, for public consumption, it should be all about her new team -- as she got around to in the follow-up

Very good event put on by TC.
The events that I've attended featured good competition and eventual post season WCWS competitors. Host hotel is located within easy walking distance from the field with numerous eateries along the way, local restaurant prices are very reasonable. You can take a taxi to the town center and enjoy a evening in the local community eating and shopping.
The wife and I took a day to go on an excursion to do some whale watching (great recommendation Trimboli) really enjoyed it and saw numerous whales breaching.
Good food, weather, accommodations and BALL. Definitely worth the trip!
