A good number of future and current "Huskies" on this list: Allchin, Barrett, Espinoza, Huskey, Lynch, Nelson.

I hope Watson heads to Az to break her mother's single season homerun record.

H. Tarr is the head coach of the JWNT, isn’t she?

Yep, although I doubt she was the only one doing the evaluations. Three, Espinosa, Huskey, and Nelson, came in through the open tryouts, so had to pay their own way:

It's a great way for a coach to keep their program relevant. Hasn't Ken gotten some great coaches on his staff out of the deal?

It’s also a great way to build relationships with players that might end up transferring from the their original school. We’ve seen that exact situation a lot recently in WBB.

I haven't seen anything on this, but I'd guess the three "invitees" (Lynch, Allchin, and Barrett).

We might want to wait until these players have actually played some college ball before insinuating that they've been unfairly selected.

I'm confused. If Tarr is using her position as head of the USJNT to attract recruits/transfers why would she favor players already committed to her team as some seem to be insinuating?

Being a national team coach, especially JWNT head coach, can help recruiting, no doubt. Some might end up looking to the Far Corner who might not have otherwise. I doubt that she's favoring her own recruits over others, just because six out of 42 are hers. More likely, they're all just very talented players.

The "14 advancing" were from the open tryout (not to the final roster).

Tarr is only one of seven votes on the selection committee for the team. She has a vote, but cannot advance or select players on her own by any means. I have been watching the tryout every day. No one here is overmatched or looks out of place and frankly (and as usual), the committee could make at least two teams of kids capable of winning gold in international competition.

I would love to see multiple US teams (4? 8?) spend the summer playing off for the Olympic berth.

Put it on ESPN

How did Flowers (CSUN) add Zoe Conley at (CSUN at the time) to the team about 4 years ago, if the coach can't put a player on the team?

Four made it through from the Open Tryouts: Madison Huskey (UW fr.), Francesca Hammoude (Oregon State fr.), Kelli Godin (UCLA fr.), Bailey Dowling (Alabama commit).

This is for the 20-player "training" roster that will be cut to a final 17-player roster prior to the WBSC U-19 Women's Softball World Cup.
