I was wondering the same thing.  I believe it was to limit the number of kids that would have tried out from the West....politics.

<< Yes Oklahoma played well vs Japan >> (Softballjunkie223)

They played well for most of the game. They led 3-1... but two subs made defensive errors late in the game to give Japan a tie.

Conspiracy theorists? lol

1) Weather (year before was held there, and was absolutely beautiful. This year’s weather was probably unanticipated)

2) The community of Clearwater put a lot of pride in to hosting the Jr World Championships last summer. I’m thinking the local associations take care of logistics. I think they were willing to put in the time, $$ and effort, and USA accepted.

Sorry, but until Southern CA can get past their drought issues enough to water a freaking field (Zoom into June was ridiculous concrete), i want to hear nothing further about the great SoCal weather as a reason for everything being there.

i'm assuming your talking about Diamond Valley Park/Hemet. Nice field setup, just hella hot and not close to anything. Why they couldn't water the fields is beyond me with the lake right there.

True. Bill Barber is great, but lest you forget, 2 years ago, half the tryout was rained out there as well...

No forgetting.

I'll take my chances on the weather there 100 times out of 100 too

Went to Hemet once. God that’s an awful place - and I don’t just mean the heat.

I hated going there. Hemet/San Jacinto has nothing to offer. stayed in Hemet once. Just Once.

No. We played in chino hills this year. I saw multiple infielders (ours and others) almost get killled. It was no different than playing in a parking lot. We asked about watering the field perhaps and they looked at us as though we’d lost our minds. They replied, “We can’t do that”. You can dream about the weather all you want, but the players actually have to play on the surfaces and that was ridiculous.

My implication is that they choose to ignore a pile of data.

But, yeah, the Jessie Warren crap is maddening, among others

You offer many valuable posts during the college season, but your criticism of slight deviations from the college world serve no purpose. We can all look at the topic heading and decide which ones we choose to read........and which to avoid. I'd recommend you avoid this one if it upsets you so.

terrell you sanctimonious dick, why do you always try to bully people into only posting what you approve of? We gotta read your never-ending whining about the name of the Louisiana-Lafayette College, and nobody asks you to stop with that nonsense, so shut up.

I've enjoyed watching scrapyard more than the NPF this year. I love what they're doing. I think it makes you question who made the team and who didn't in some situations.

NPF season de facto starts on Monday, but a Chicago-USSSA final is a foregone conclusion.

If they had a Bama alum-heavy team in Tuscaloosa, a UCLA-heavy team in LA, a Sooners-heavy team in OKC, a Duck-heavy team in Eugene, Gator-heavy team in Gainesville... keep that wonderful setup in Chicago.... you get the idea, I believe they might be able to draw 1,500 a game.... but, could that support the players getting 10-20K a year? Not without at least a mediocre TV deal.

Sucks that there is not that option available, and also that MLB has no inclination to get involved like the NBA does.

Is what it is.
