The point seems pretty self evident...
That is a pretty lethal staff...
but it could be even more lethal.

Kelly B is still a pretty great pitcher... but she seems to be less lethal - than she used to be.
I like my chances with Abbott (or Ricketts) in the circle quite a bit more...
than I do with Barnhill.

I will be honest that I haven’t followed NPF and USA as closely as I could, but I didn’t think Ricketts post collegiate career had been that impressive. Kinda feels like Team USA is a one pitcher team (which has been fine for Ueno).

Again, apparently it gets used with USA (have not personally witnessed this) and you can’t judge a pitch when it gets thrown once a season (if that) like it has for her in college. Also again, i haven’t seen it. Maybe it’s not good. Maybe she doesn’t throw it with USA as often as has been suggested by others. I just know that it would not be the first time a Gator pitcher has not used all of her tools. Hannah Rogers didn’t throw her drop or change until post season her senior year. That was not the first time she had those tools.

Here are the pro stats for Abbott, Ricketts and Ueno for last year. They were the three top pitchers in Japan.

Japan 2017
Player           IP      ER     ERA
Ueno         100.0      8     0.56   1st
Abbott        90.1     13     1.01   2nd
Ricketts      85.1     18     1.48   3rd

NPF 2017
Player            IP       ER     ERA
Abbott        144.0     24     1.16    3rd
Ricketts        80.2     17     1.48    5th

Ricketts has only pitched one NPF game in 2018 and it was a 7 inning shutout no-hitter.

Ooooh, who was 1st, 2nd and 4th in 2017 NPF?  That'd be interesting to know.  I could look it up but it's the NPF.

I can't think of another NPF pitcher (now that CO is gone) that I'd choose over Abbott and Ricketts. (but is interesting that KR has half the innings of MA - I'd expect the same when they're on Team USA.)

Jordan Taylor was 1
Cheridan Hawkins was 2
Angel Bunner was 4

Taylor has had some excellent seasons in both the NPF and Japan - and she deserves consideration for the Olympic team.

If there was ever a pitcher screwed by the NCAA it is either Fowler or Taylor.
