Newt should be in the WH advising Trump, or better still running the RNC.

dewfresh, why do you think this is your situation? Any possible chance that you can connect these dots?

"The Democratic National Committee entered the midterm elections year "dead broke," with a paltry $400,000 in party coffers, according to federal records.

The committee finished 2017 with roughly $6.5 million in available cash and about $6.1 million in debt, according to recently released Federal Election Commission filings. That leaves a balance of just $422,582 to start a year that will culminate in midterm elections, in which Democrats are hoping to recapture a majority in the House.

The DNC’s fundraising challenges have been well known since shortly after the 2016 elections, when President Trump defeated front-running Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. The committee has been rocked by turmoil, including the resignation of chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz amid leaked emails that showed DNC brass "rigged" the primaries so Clinton would defeat Sen. Bernie Sanders."

Midterms have a chance to not be the bloodbath the msm is making them out to be.

Midterms seem to favor the gop in theory. Dem voter base is more emotional and votes on feelings. Without a rock star at the top of the ticket, turnout could be an issue. That, along with a huge financial hole and not having control of a single branch of gvt - senate should be more than safe and House should stay gop.

A republican governor in Illinois.  That would be a gut punch and a half.

If Senator Bob Corker (R-TN) thought floating the possibility of him seeking re-election would cause U.S. Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) to pump the brakes, he was very wrong.

When asked if Corker changing his mind would change hers, Blackburn replied, “No. I have made my decision. I made my decision to get in the race and I am in the race to stay. We are running well, and I plan to win.”

This is great news.

Also, Corker's fabricated media campaign to create the false impression that voters want him to run again isn't fooling the White House. According to Jonathan Martin at the New York Times, President Trump "offered encouragement to Representative Marsha Blackburn" in a recent phone call.

And most importantly, Tennessee Republicans want Corker to retire by an overwhelming margin. Our poll showed that a whopping 64% of likely GOP primary voters want him to leave the Senate.

We are encouraged that Marsha Blackburn is not wavering in her commitment to this race. We're confident she will defeat Bob Corker if he runs again and we're confident that she gives Republicans the best chance of defeating Phil Bredesen (D-TN) in the general election.

Generic ballot gap has closed 10 points since February - dems now lead by only 6.

Hopefully they just keep talking 2A repeal all the way up to the elections. Then they will see how the people really feel about protecting their rights.

You idiots make up a 2nd amendment challenge and go all bonkers on hoping it gets traction. Not even Schumer thinks there will be an attempt to repeal the 2nd. Go fight something other than windmills.

There is no "ticket" in mid-terms. It's a collection of congressional elections, and turnout will be high. Dems don't vote on "feelings"--where did you come up with that crazy idea?

We try not to upset the rednecks, but it's difficult. They don't know much but are extremely stubborn about their believes--"stupid and proud of it." The bottom line is that guns and gun violence are a serious practical problem, and so we as a nation will either do something serious to solve the problem or keep watching kids--and thousands of other people--get murdered regularly. Alas, we must contend with stubborn red-state morons who think their freedom to buy a semi-assault weapon so they can shoot tin cans off of fence posts is more important that public safety.

Conservafact "talking points". If they can convince themselves we are motivated by emotions and not the overwhelming evidence denny is a racist lunatic, they think it makes their made up stories more believable. NNNOOOOOOTTTTTTT! They are still made up drivel. Keep trying.

Seriously?  Just look at yours and Scott's postings.  Nothing but spouting liberal talking points and emotions.  When pressed on the practicality of any issue, there is no substance.

Tell Scott.  He thinks second amendment repeal is not serious.  Says Shumer says the same.

us rednecks don't have those problems out here in the heartland.  we have more guns per household probably, but these things tend to happen in liberal big city areas.

so, ban all weapons in liberal big cities if you want - leave us alone.  we've proven ourselves responsible - you haven't.
