No UF or FSU.... bummer. I can't remember the last time Oregon played Tennessee (WCWS in 2012?) And...DUKE!

Duke jumping right in for a first year program. Nothing like 'live fire' first month of season.

i'd really like to see TAMU play UW or Oregon! SEC vs Pac12 matchups are always fun to watch, but I have high hopes for TAMU this season.

What is the format for this tournament? Are the games pre-set or is it a blind draw? Single elimination? Double?

Only Tournaments in college are Conference and NCAA. All others are games.

Are he said above, they are just games, Not a tournament. I wouldn't say it's blind draw for, some teams get given better schedules because of who they are and who they know inside Mary Nutter.

For example, last year I believe UCLA was the home team in all of its games.

Is FSU playing at Fullerton.... or a three-game set against a Bama or Auburn or LSU? I know they have their two against UF and are hosting Oregon for a couple.

Does one team "win" the Mary Nutter, or is it just a bunch of games?

The nutter has beer.. it's a field of dreams park. most of them have beer. never will forget the first time I coached a team at a field of dreams. 14's team in west Covina.. we warmed up and getting ready to play. Looked in the stands and there were no parents. they were in the clubhouse, which you can see the game from. indulging in beverage. plus it was Air conditioned.

I know. The first time in 9 years we won't be at the tournament. I'm sure it'll be major depression. I had a tough time missing PGF this year.

I would've liked to have seen Arkansas play in the second weekend. The first one is dull outside of UCLA & Utah. Wish there was more competition in that weekend. Storm was a great benefit to the Razorbacks. Who knows what she can pull off with a little experience under her belt

Yep. It was at least one of my vacation weeks every year. I honestly think it is the best tournament in the country, and if you got me to a place where I wouldn't get attacked, I might argue it's better than the WCWS. The WCWS means a heckuva lot more, but the atmosphere and the abilities at the MNC are better.

I'm guessing you can call me a southerner again. Though the use of "pop" in this state makes me question if they're a southern state.

Or "coke" as a true southerner would say, or even further "coke cola" (read: co-cola). My parents always disliked that I said soda. Now I dislike that these people say pop.

that's funny, I grew up in the Midwest with pop being the go to word. What I thought was funny is that the they still called where you got pop, shakes, etc. soda fountains

MNC is my favorite smoreseason tournament! Such a great opportunity to see where everyone is at and see some inevitable post season matchups! Looking forward to a great college season.
