Thank you.  I am not too aware of their program but it appeared they had a decent year.

It's true, Coach Bradley has been dismissed at Campbell.

That happened with a local junior college here. Assistant got promoted to interim coach, took team to national tournament, but before hire could be made full-time had to go through an HR process of posting and even interviewing.

My sources say Bradley is out @ Campbell.  Evidently he failed to renew a number of key players (reasons unclear) @ end of year meetings then the AD stepped down and failed to renew him.  No announcement yet, and the staff is still listed on the webpage. They did have an OK year.  Basically .500, 12-9 in conference and wins over USC and Duke.

That is what I have heard as well.  Removed some key players for sure.

by failing to renew you refer to 'cut' a number of key players?

Ye, that's the dark side of Exit Meetings. It looks as if the AD took exception though and stepped in. Not knowing all the details of the program it's difficult to understand if the move by the AD was a good one, and this is why.

Campbell is a small Mid Major D1 in the Big South. They aren't obligated to follow new guaranteed scholarship protocols the Power 5 instituted back in Sept 2015. The Coach, possibly former, had exit interviews and decided not to renew certain player's athletic scholarships for the upcoming season. His reasons are his alone but seems he thought they would be best for the overall health of the program moving forward.

If this current coach has truly been fired for releasing some players, any prospective new coach should take a serious look at how much actual autonomy they will really have with this current AD sitting on their shoulder. How is ANY coach able to do their job effectively when they know going in they are unable to make key decisions, because players & parents will start complaining. Doing the right thing doesn't always pay the bills. Winning does however.

I have no idea the state of the Campbell Softball program. Or the current & past standing of their coach. This is only an observation. I'm sure the actions of the AD are being applauded as 'the right thing to do'.  And maybe so. Exit interviews are standard practice at every program and, I can assure you over the past several weeks and the weeks to come, a great number of kids will be given their involuntary release or, at P5 Schools told their services are no longer needed. Recently, Duke just flat out cut a kid right after the ACC tourney.

It would be interesting to understand what the true details are with the Campbell scenario.

When will the parade of openings begin? Who will be the next P5 coach that abruptly resigns?

Any guesses?

Three years too late, but most are expecting an announcement this week.

UNT posting.

The successful candidate will possess Three years experience in programs at the Division I level required. Bachelor's degree required.

Yes get someone who’s only been an Assistant at the D1 level god forbid you allow some of the very successful D2 coaches a chance to win at the next level. Just my opinion. I can read the hire Bio now. So and so “helped” lead xyz program to this and that. Bid difference from being an Assistant to a Head

I've got no dog in that hunt, but some would also argue there is a big difference between DII and DI.
