Just saw an announcement that DePaul's entire staff is out.  No word if forced or resigned.

That’s quite a shocker - no explanation given, per this story:

I'm sure he had nothing to do with winning this year. smh

Very sad.  On all accounts. He clearly got the most out of the previous coaches team. He must be a good coach and it looks like he returned to the area he is from.  Job hopping is job hopping and it is on the Athletic Directors who hire him to see that he does not keep a job long. The athletes are the one who lose out.  Three or hour coaches in five years is not good for any program. Lets face it a degree from Georgia Tech is far better than a degree from Austin Peay.  Hopefully he realized what a sacrifice this pitcher made in transferring.

Just to be clear to players out there, in the "non-softball" job world job hopping is a red flag on your resume.  No one wants to invest time and money training someone who is going to bail in even a few years.
So we are faulting a coach who took a job close to home? Hopping around? He coached at an awful GT and had to leave, had a great year at Peay and is now close to home in North Texas. I say well done.

Or he fell into a very good pitcher who carried the team for on year.

Rule one when hiring a coach:  The coach should have had success with at least two different pitchers.

I would have really have to ask myself as a parent were I have failed, if my kid said she was leaving a school like Georgia Tech and transferring to Austin Peay to play softball.

good point.  A new employee (on average) loses money for the company in the first year, and breaks even in the second, while coming up to speed.   The third year is where the hire starts paying off.

Lenti was a little rough around the edges. His Sister was the Athletic Director and I'm not sure he would have made it this far without her assistance. Not sure his act plays too well in this decade.

If that is true, I could not be more happy for Jimmy and Jessica Kolaitis

My girl was ridiculously fortunate to have the same coaching group for all four years

Bona fortuna, Coach K!

Kolaitis to UAB is a tremendous hire. He is a familiar face in Alabama, and I am guessing he will do great things for UAB. Kudos to them.

He recruited my daughter when he was at South Alabama.  Though she did not attend there, he was a pleasure to deal with.  He has a great personality and brings a lot of fundamental knowledge to the table.  This is an outstanding hire.

It’s amazing that all players have to do is say the coach is mean and she’s gone. Granted I know nothing about that program, but know a couple in my area that we’re great coaches but had a few kids they were mad about not playing. Earn it kids.

@Tennhorn  -  there are many people who appear great from far but are far from great up close. Players can revolt for the silliest of reasons (thanks Daddy Ball), but in this case, it’s pretty much true.  Some players should have been disciplined and some coaches should never have been on campus, ever.  Let’s hope the former coach can right the ship and be who people thought she was before. If a school considers hiring her, good luck with that situation. She’ll need constant supervision of her choices. Sad.

TruDat is correct, player's revolt. And Tomahawk is correct that this was completely justified. Heahter made terrible hiring decisions from day 1 that I heard lead to legal action, doesn't know how to manage a team, and treated her players like they were from the SEC when UMBC is primarily an academic institution. Dumb decision + bad fit from the start.

She's just not head coaching material and given the drama she brings with her, she's a sub-par assistant coach at best. If hired she will need to be closely monitored. Hopefully UMBC makes a better decision this time around. Shame also because as a player she was pretty accomplished if I remember. Some people just don't have the chops.
