Michigan shuts down the Louisiana offense scattering 5 hits and getting 5 strikeouts in a 3-1 Wolverine victory. Tera Blanco gets the win, Megham Beaubien the save. Summer Ellyson takes the loss.

Even though it was a loss, I think the future is promising for Ellyson.

Summer has above average ability. It will be interesting to see, under the tutelage of Ellen Renfroe Reed and Courtnay Foster, how much she can improve.

I have no idea why the game against Iowa would not be counted as a loss for Louisiana, since 4 innings were completed before the lights went out and Iowa had the lead, but that game and the Michigan State game were cancelled.

Pretty sure it needed to go 5 innings, LCITSH. The reason Iowa scored those two runs is because the center fielder could not see the ball, as she totally over ran it. They never got the lights back on last night, and Iowa probably has a flight out today, just my opinion on that.

Here is the official rule from the NCAA rules book in case anyone is wondering:

6.19 No Game The plate umpire shall declare “no game” if play is terminated before each team has completed five innings or if a halted game of less than five innings is not resumed

Louisiana defeats Fresno St. 7-2. Casey Dixon pitched a complete game giving up only 4 hits, with 4 walks and 5 strikeouts for the win. Cajuns had 9 hits on the day. Next up, the Baylor Bears in 30 min. Geaux Cajuns

Going to the bottom of the 3rd, Baylor up 1-0 on a solo shot by McGlaun, for the only hit in three innings for the Bears.

Baylor holds on 1-0 over Louisiana. Cajuns with 8 hits, all singles could not push across a run. Summer Ellyson had a great game pitching a 4-hitter with 0 walks and 3 strikeouts, but the solo homer did her in. Tough loss for the Cajuns, but it was a very good game.

Cajuns close out the series with the third 4-2 score. Casidy Chaumont hits her 4th home run of the season, Courtney Dean her 4th and 5th. All 3 were solo shots. Louisiana welcomes back Florida International to Lamson Park on Thursday.

Sympathies to the Florida International family with regards to the tragedy on campus. We'll be praying for you.

Doubleheader shutout sweep for the Cajuns today over Appalachian State, 5-0 and 8-0 (5). Kara Gremillion had her first home run of the season in the first game, a solo shot in the third. Alyssa Dalton crushed her second home run of the year in game 2, a 3 run bomb in the third. Summer Ellyson pitched 5 innings of no hit ball, Carrie Boswell closed out the last two innings. Casey Dixon took the nightcap, giving up only 2 hits.

Louisiana completes the series sweep over Appalachian State, 7-0. Kourtney Gremillion hits her first home run of the year, a solo shot in the second. Lexie Comeaux gets her second of the year, a 2 run blast in the fifth. Summer Ellyson gets her 8th win of the year with help from Casey Dixon (2) and Carrie Boswell (1).

Appalachian State is looking better. Pitching is improving, and it looks like their batters are making better contact with the ball. Shelly Hoerner may be good for what ails them.

Late inning heroics in both games give Louisiana their 40th consecutive conference series victory, defeating Troy 4-2 in 11 innings in game 1, and 8-7 in game 2. Cajuns come from behind, scoring 1 in the 5th, 1 in the 6th to tie it, then the 2 runs in the 11th.

Beth Ashley gets her first home run of the season in game 2, a 2 run bomb in the 3rd to begin the come back. Lexie Comeaux hits her third of the season, a 3 run blast in the 6th to complete the scoring.

Outstanding comeback in both games by the Cardiac Cajuns, this team is very young and depleted from the transfers and graduation of some big time players, but they have exceeded my expectations by far. Coach Glasco has his team running and gunning and it looks like they are starting to jell. 1o games so far, that they were trailing and have came back to win already this year, as they continue to fight down to the last pitch. Really impressed with the effort shown by this young and inexperienced team, as they seem to be growing up really fast halfway thru the season and seem to be starting to get some confidence in each other. Great job Cajuns

Typical Louisiana-South Alabama series.

Game 1: Cajuns score first on a single by Beth Ashley, driving in Brittany Rodriguez in the bottom of the first. Jaguars tie it in the 4th on a solo shot by Brittani Reid. Cajuns open it up in the 5th on a two run home run by Kourtney Gremillion, then add 4 more in the 6th. 7-1, Cajuns.

Game 2: Jaguars fight back with 3 runs in the 5th (excellent pitching by Alexis Reid). Cajuns tie it in the 6th on a 3 run bomb by Beth Ashley. (FREE SOFTBALL) Brittani Reid gets another solo homer in the 8th. Cajuns win it in the bottom on a run-scoring double by Alissa Dalton, plating Kara Gremillion. Dalton then scores the winning run when Savanna Mayo drops the ball after tagging Dalton in a run down between third and home. 5-4, Cajuns.

This was almost a ho-hum series ender. Neither team seemed to have any fire today. Cajuns score a run in each of the first three innings, Jaguars answer late with 2 in the top of the 6th. 11 hits for Louisiana, 11 left on base. 3 hits for South Alabama, 4 left on base.

This was the beginning of a serious set of games for Louisiana. Cajuns now have 6 consecutive road games, with 2 at Florida State, 3 at Georgia State, then 1 at Southeastern Louisiana. Texas State, currently undefeated in conference play (8-0), comes in to Lafayette, then the Cajuns have a midweek road game against McNeese State. This stretch may give some indication of the Cajuns' post season strength.

I'm here. I'm not asking the dude to root for the opponent. Just don't try to bend friggin' reality.
