What is keeping Utah's rpi so low with a 21-4 record and some quality wins?

117th in overall SoS. Probably. Plus they don't get the "bonus" for last weekends games as it was conference.

That's what I thought, and looks like Az and Baylor's were most adjusted.

So if this holds true, which it won't, South Alabama is headed to Tuscaloosa for regionals, again!

Baylor is 5, meaning they will be visiting Texas A&M in regionals

Send SA to Auburn. It would be interesting if they showed up.

I always love that matchup.  Clarke and Myers on the same field is the perfect softball telenova.

Not sure Sunbelt would get three teams in. TXSTATE has the highest conference RPI at 29.

I would actually love seeing Florida vs Oregon but maybe in Gainesville instead.

The 2015 Regional did not disappoint.

Ducks already did Gainesville.... No way UF doesn't get a top 8 as its schedule jacks up here... but it is high time they had to travel somewhere...lol

Do you mean in the postseason? Should the teams that earn top seeds not get to play at home?

Oh chrissakes, there's an "lol" there (unlike when I talk about umps not calling replants)

If they collapse and finish at 9, it will be the first time in.... FOREVER??? ... that they will have had to potentially play supers on the road.

Hence, the throwaway line

Sorry, didn't catch your meaning ... My apologies.

It wasn't all that long ago that UCLA and Arizona dominated the sport and Florida wasn't a factor. Over time different dogs have their days.

For the record, I don't think it would be fair to make Minnesota play at home in the postseason beacuse they're not used to it. (Not directed at you, but you've been on the same threads).

And that statement comes with a big LOL.

LOL indeed.

Though I think there should be SOME sort of non-home-win bonus OOC.... it just makes sense.

But, that guy makes anyone who has that POV look bad... way too much crying... needs a wahhhmbulance

Also, I DO think it is time for this sport to put on its big-girl clothes and stop being slaves to this bus-ride BS for regionals.

Slice those Nos. 1 and 2 seeds purely by rankings, the 16 team should host the 17 team, no matter where they are from. And 1 should host 32. And all of it in between.

The TV ratings are solid.... let's make the postseason even better

No excuses

Been screaming this for years. Stop relying on regional seeding.

Softball has it MUCH better than baseball - I would think they would move that direction before moving the other way.

<<Softball has it MUCH better than baseball>>

In what sense? Other than the game being superior?

Baseball only seeds the top 8, softball seeds the top 16

Edit to add:  This makes their super regional setup much more geographical than softball.  You see more UNC vs. South Carolina - Florida vs. Miami vs. Florida St. etc... if they are not both in the top 8.
