Sorry it got overlooked. And I hate to say it, but the model for this thread is kinda boring to me. Without point spreads involved, people tend to just pick the favorite, with the occasional team-loyalty-over-picking-the-favorite causing a bad pick. The model needs spreads to interest me more.

Half the games are a coin toss. Pick the favorite each week and you will lose to someone who picks the upsets.
Every season there are 2 or 3 weeks with majority blowout matchups---on those weeks for past 7 years I have thrown in point spreads and will this season when most matchups are more than 7 points difference.
Most the matchups I chose this week are within 7 points. Last week was the same which is why no one got more than 4 of 7 correct.
Florida state and oklahoma state were favorites and both lost at home. Spread did not matter since they lost.
Penn state vs iowa was a 2 point win and penn state was favored by 6 so of the 7 games i chose that was only game that would have mattered since iowa and +6 or penn state and -6 would have changed picks if someone would have taken iowa and 6 points expecting it to stay close.

Sure it is more fun to pick with point spreads  and I did it one season and had just as many people complain since the spread kept changing up to kickoff  so i had to put out early spread and leave it and people could change picks as needed until game time. And i will continue to mix in point spread games next week and further weeks along with toss up picks.

Opinions are read, respected,  and taken into consideration.

Many of the games this week can easily go either way so I am curious how people pick. Last week some state schools took it on the chin (florida state, Oklahoma state and Mississippi state)

I want the old debate he offered. Lots of tongue in cheek. Start a dedicated thread to offer nothing but over the top insight. Mucho puns, and no crap or attacks allowed outside the framework of punminship. I'm down, but it would severely limit the participation from what I have seen from the lack of intellect I have been witnessing.

Really it would be like working for gratis for National Lampoon magazine, and after a year of unresponsive input being invited to the company Christmas orgy.

Week 6

Saturday, October 7
Washington State at Oregon (+2.5)
Miami at Florida State (+3.5)
Alabama at Texas A&M (+25.5)
Kansas State (+5.5) at Texas
Wisconsin at Nebraska (+13)
LSU (+6.5) at Florida
Cal (+27) at Washington

Point spread is added in to final score to determine winner.
Example: Cal vs Washington. Add 27 points to cal final score to see if they win or if Washington still won giving up those 27 points.
if Cal wins point spread didn't matter. If Washington wins 30 to 10 we add 27 to cal and cal ends up winning 37 to 30.
