I have one thing to say about that:

There's no such thing as an underdog, at least not in my vocabulary. Must be the coach in me talking, huh?

Wow, the game between the Firecrackers and Babes was intense. It was back and forth the whole game. The Firecrackers jumped out to an early lead, but the Babes came back in the late innings to win the game. As a Sooner fan, it was interesting to see the match-up b/w Allen vs. Allen/Bachman. The Babes actually had to use 3 pitchers. They ran into trouble in the late innings. The game was a bit of an upset with the defending champs returning everyone cept their starting pitcher Langenfield and DP Trott.

I have a feeling we will see the Firecrackers come back through the losers brackets. They have too much talent to go 2 and out.

They next get to play the Corona Angels. The Angels beat a very tough Florida Gold team. This whole region is tough. With the Angels, and the Batbusters in the same region. The Angels have a few commits who are going to UCLA. I didn't catch who the Batbusters pitcher is? Does anyone know? I searched for a roster, but couldn't find any.

Also, Was there a reason why the Desert Thunder didn't start Kenzie Fowler? I don't understand why you would not start her in the 1st game. They have the tough task of trying to come back in the Losers bracket. Is she hurt?

Did you catch the # that the 'busters P was wearing? I might be able to tell you if you can give me a number.

Batbuster Pitcher was either Donna Kerr - UCLA or Teagan Gerhardt 09 - Stanford

I think her number was 9? I am not a 100% on that though. She had brown hair and was about 5'7 or 5'8ish. The two times I have seen her pitch, she was IMO the best pitcher out here, besides Escobedo. I would have to compare her to Cat Osterman. The way she puts so much movement on her pitches. She throws in the low 60's, but her movement can't be matched.

ASU is going to be loaded for many years. They have two of the better pitchers in this tournament. Bach and Escobedo have been real impressive. I was disappointed in not getting to see Fowler pitched. It looked like the coach wanted to have her pitch in the 2nd game? Back fire.

Whoever set this bracket did a terrible job. The bottom half of the bracket is much better then the top half. I wasn't impressed with any teams in the top half besides the Sting, Hotshots, and Sorcerer's gold. Should be a breeze for these teams.

Off to watch the Babes/Angels. Allen vs. UCLA commit Yudin.

She was playing for the Batbusters and is about 5'7-5'8 with brown hair you say?

that sounds like Donna to me!

Teagan pitched the 1st game for the Batbusters. Kerr is pitching now against Tx. Impact Gold.

I see Paculba is playing with the Batbusters, I thought she was taking the summer off. Glad to see she's playing.

Anyone have a final on GC Hurricanes-Omaha Quakes? Gameslacker stuck with 2 outs, bot 7, GC leading 1-0 and Brombacher 1 out from a no-hitter.

#9 is actually #19 and that is jessica spigner. she pitched the last 2 inning of the gulf coast hurricanes game in pool play for 1-0 win. although she pitched well, i doubt she'll go again. teagan #15 threw a no hitter thru 5 innings in that game and absolutely shut panthers down today. kerr is #24 and she just beat impact gold.

Hoping someone can help me.  When I go to the page with the game stats, all I get is a .gif file that shows the teams & the scores.  The page looks normal, but the box with the scores in it is real fuzzy.  I notice the page has a .aspx extension - is there something special I need for that type of page?

I have loaded the page in both Firefox & IE & I get the same results.  Anyone know what might be happening?

Thanks.

I am not sure if you were really watching the Babes/Firecrackers game as the Firecrackers never led. The Babes jumped out to a 2-0 lead and at one point were winning 8-1 before the Crackers scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning. The game was almost tied up as Jamia Reid hit a ball of the top of the fence with the bases loaded but only two runs scored. It was almost a grand slam. The Babes threw Bachman for the first 6 innings and Kirsten Allen closed out the game. Firecrackers made way too many errors but almost came back. Allee Allen of the Firecrackers did not pitch in this game at all.

By the way, the Firecrackers lost more than just Trott and Langenfeld as Schutzler also was on the roster last year as was Wheeler.

I saw Kerr pitching last night's game against the Texas Impact, so I doubt it was her against the Panthers. Impact held a 1-0 lead until the bottom of the 3rd and just couldn't contain the Batbusters bats.  I know that was one of the furthest 3-run HRs I have seen this year, must have been close to 240.

And JMO was obviously there watching the Babes vs Firecrackers, becasue those are accurate facts.

Babes vs Angels was also a good game (2-1), but the Angels' pitcher threw a great game and only allowed 3 hits.

I just realized my message from yesterday. I was typing it from my Sprint Centro, and didn't go back to edit it. Yeah, That was a stupid mistake. I did say my message was garbled. It was an impressive game. The Babes jumped out to the early lead. The Firecrackers came back, but came up short. The Ball that Reid did hit IMO would have been gone on any other normal day. It was just so humid and hot yesterday, any ball hit in the air just died. I overheard some people talking about the 3 run home run last night, she must have really crushed it.

I was impressed with the game Kirsten Allen threw last night. She is a competitor. I could see why she was so dominant. Her defense let her down in the 1st inning. That was the difference. The UCLA pitcher did an excellent job keeping down the talented Babes offense. Held them to 3 hits.

You think the 'busters threw Teagan against the Panthers??

I wouldn't bet against that. If their P was wearing 15, then she did indeed throw against them.
Edit: Wow, she threw a no-hitter in that game?! are you serious!?

Unbelivable! GO TEAGAN!

The ball that Reid hit was crushed being that fences are set at 225. I have seen more home runs this year than last although the fences are still deep. You definitely have to hit it hard to get over in this air.

Aleah Macon threw the game for Tyson last night against the Babes - not the UCLA pitcher. Macon is from Washington.

Who was pitching for Marty? You keep mentioning this girl either is at or has committed to UCLA... who is she? (PM please, if she's a commit.)

I figured Dani had a solid arm, but I didn't know she could pitch! Nice! How'd she do(from your perspective)?

yudin doesn't pitch. Teagan pitched a no hitter to gold coast hurricanes
And a 2 hitter to combat panthers. She looks good. J. Hall is the only
Ucla pitcher I know on marty's angels but I don't know if she pitched.
I think she is a lefty. The 3 run homer for Batbusters was hit by J. Spigner.
D. Kerr gave up just a few hits to a very strong offensive team in impact
gold.

Spigner absolutely crushed that ball.  I was walking back and forth between the Babes/Angels game and Batbusters/Impact game since I knew they would both be good games and were being played next to each other.  Anyway, I was lucky enough to be watching when she hit the HR and it was a good 3/4s the way up the foul pole when it went out and had to be close to 240 since the fences are 225.

Danielle Yudin did pitch yesterday into the 5th inning. Macon pitched the 1st game. They put in a another pitcher. If they didn't, then she switched numbers with somebody. There were a few UCLA fans at the game, and they said it was Yudin pitching. They seemed surprised b/c they didn't know Yudin pitched either. If she did pitch, it was very rare. They seemed to have a lot of knowledge about the Angels.

Wow, Fowler's team put a hurting on the team they were playing. I think it was a mistake to not pitch Fowler yesterday. I don't understand that reasoning. They will have to fight their way throw a tough losers bracket.

Jessica Shults had the big hit to break the Firecrackers game wide open. Bases clearing triple to knock in 3 runs. Jamia Reid and Kristen Arriola both have had huge games with multiple hits. Jamia Reid is super fast. She is going to beat out a lot of plays with her speed. I would like to see a race b/w Jamia, Elia, and Jordan Wallace.

PD, I did get your message. Hilary Bach is a smart pitcher. She isn't going to overpower you with her stuff. She mainly throws high 50's and low 60's. She's a lot like Kelsi Dunne. She was a tough luck loser yesterday. Lost a heartbreaker to the always tough Cruisers. She was able to navigate her way out of trouble many times, but got burn in the late innings. She is tall of course. She kept the Cruiser hitters off balance by mixing up her pitches.

The Combat Panthers are done as well. 2 and out.

Danielle Yudin is not a pitcher and did not pitch against the Babes nor did J Hall. Yudin is a catcher. Do not believe Gametracker stats. Whoever you thought was knowledgeble about the Angels had you fooled. Macon has thrown both games for the Angels.

Shults hit a bases loaded two out double that just went off the centerfielders glove - definitely a clutch hit to extend the lead to 5-2.

And by the way, Jordan Wallace is not nearly as fast as Jamia or Elia.

Sad to see such a good team as Florida Gold going home so early but that is the luck of the draw.
